Park Ridge Animal Hospital recently participated in The Sweetest Thank You Party on February 10, 2018.  It was an amazing and moving day! Many people have contacted us to say the event was filled with love, respect and deep appreciation for those who keep us safe and sacrifice the most. We humbly THANK YOU for so warmly welcoming and honoring America’s National Security K9 Teams - military, police, search and rescue, therapy and service dogs.

Some of the highlights of the event include:

  • Launch of the COFAK campaign- The Canine Counterterrorism Operational First Aid Kit.  Included in the kit are nerve gas, poison and narcotic antidotes, airway equipment and medicine for emergency pain control.  These kits will be provided to canine working teams throughout the country.

  • In attendance were Paterson Police with their working dogs, Ramapo Search and Rescue working dog teams, Col. Rich Vargas & LTC Norma Vargas from the Department of the Army Military Program Manager at the Pentagon, Lt. John Kerwick of MTA Special Operations Tactical Commander and President of the US Police Canine Association Region 7 NY, Joan Angela D’Alessandro Memorial Foundation, Tails of Hope’s YAP-K9 Ambassadors Maura, Eagle Scout candidate Zach, The Park Ridge Rotary and many others.

Tails of Hope provided us with the following update with the latest news since the Party.

  • K9 “Lakeland”, the narcotics K9 we gifted to the Paterson Police, found more drugs the very next night after the event, on February 11th, which translates into more lives saved!

  • We are helping five more K9 Heroes receive advanced veterinary care for life threatening tumors, cardiac issues, degenerative arthritis and more.

  • More advances have been made on the Canine Counterterrorism First Aid Kit™ (COFAK™) and more of you have sent gifts to Protect the K9s Who Protect us! ™ and other featured programs.

On February 10th we discussed a challenge made earlier by a Medal of Honor recipient who said, “It is not enough to say ‘Thank You’” to our active Service Members and Veterans, but instead to ask, ‘HOW CAN I HELP?’”. You have been responding with offers of help from banks, business owners, service organizations and more!  THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING AMERICA’S CALL!!!
